While visiting FAT – Arts & Fashion Week last year, I was highly impressed by how different this event was from the typical “fashion week.”
Each evening consists of a medley of fashion shows, photography exhibitions, art installation, video screenings, and live performances. I felt like I was participating in some kind of an underground art movement that brought art and fashion to the masses.
I had to come back this year!
Located in a historic industrial warehouse near Bloor and Lansdowne, this annual multi-arts event features 200 national and international fashion designers, visual artists, bands and performers.
It’s a great showcase for innovative and contemporary expression of art and the fashion phenomenon. And, if you’re on the lookout for interesting avant-garde styles, this is the place for you!
FAT – Arts & Fashion Week kicks in this Tuesday, April 24 and continues until Saturday, April 28.
This year’s theme is fashionSCAPES and it divides into four sub-themes:
LANDscapes on Tuesday, CITYscapes on Wednesday, BODYscapes on Thursday, and FUTUREscapes on Friday. Saturday features a fabulous shopping experience where you can meet most of the designers, relax, chat and shop shop shop!
This year’s edition of FAT also has a special focus of Germany.
