Toronto’s Fashion Week is really coming into its own. It seems like every season the spectacle gets bigger and better with the crowds more stylish, the models more stunning and the designers more inspiring.
There’s a crop of hot new talent. Among them Duy Nguyen, winner of the 2012 Mercedes-Benz Start Up award, who showcased his fall 2013 collection for his label DUY on the main runway. If you haven’t heard about this up and comer then pay attention because on Tuesday night he killed it.
Ground zero for World MasterCard Fashion Week is the grand tent at David Pecaut Square. It’s a gigantic venue complete with two fashion show spaces as well as lounges, cocktail bars, cafes and make-up stations.
Backstage is a circus of activity with designers, models and an army of make-up artists creating an electric atmosphere. It’s really a sight to see. Bottom line is: if you’re into fashion, wanna get into fashion or just wanna hang around fashionable people, this is really the place to be.
