Weekly SNDtrack: Skyfall

With the North American release of the latest James Bond flick Skyfall just around the corner, the film’s theme song was an easy choice for soundtrack for the week.

Performed by British songstress Adele the track was recorded at famed Abbey Road Studios in London, with a 77-piece orchestra as an accompaniment.

Adele originally confirmed that she would be singing the theme to Skyfall by posting a picture of the score on her Twitter page.

“I’ll be back combing my hair when I’m 60 telling people I was a Bond girl back in the day” the Grammy award-winning singer told the press.

Subsequently the song premiered in the UK at 00:07am on the singer’s website and it immediately shot to the top of iTunes.

Adele’s piercing voice matched with a sensual and dramatic orchestral accompaniment delivers a classic Bond song. Check it out for yourself…

And here’s the trailer for the film which was directed by Sam Mendes (former hubby of Kate Winslet and director of American Beauty and Road to Perdition) and starring the sharpest dressed man in the spy business Daniel Craig.
