A classic 80s track gets a 2012 remix for the London Olympics.

A remix of Kate Bush’s classic 80s track “Running Up that Hill (A Deal with God)” premiered yesterday during the closing ceremony of the London Olympics.
Bush herself had high praise for the performance. Posting on her website, she wrote: “I hope you all enjoyed the remix of Running Up That Hill this evening at the Olympics Closing Ceremony. They certainly put on a brilliant show.”
What’s new, you ask? The remix is bassier than the original and features the singer’s mature 54-year-old voice, which sounds as glorious as ever. You can watch a piece of the Olympic performance on Gawker and listen to the song remix courtesy of the fine folks at Slicing Up Eyeballs.
The British singer/songwriter originally released the track on her 1985 album “Hounds of Love.” Here is the original video for your listening pleasure:
“Running Up that Hill (A Deal with God)” 2012 Remix is now in the top 10 of the UK iTunes singles chart and is available for purchase on iTunes as part of the album “A Symphony Of British Music: Music For The Closing Ceremony Of The London 2012 Olympic Games.”
