Imagine that you’re an aspiring musician, filmmaker, actor, or any other creative type whose been plugging away at it for years. It’s been a struggle and you’re not getting anywhere. You’re on the verge of quitting; getting a “real job,” but one day destiny intervenes.

It’s 2 a.m. You’re in a hotel in Berlin, Germany. Suddenly the phone rings and on the line is the manager of one of the world’s most famous music performers.

“Someone would like to speak to you,” he says.

“Is this a joke?” you think to yourself. “Am I dreaming?”

Your heart starts pounding, adrenaline kicks it. “What the hell is going on?” you ask yourself.

Jus then the star gets on the phone,  introduces herself and says, “I’d like to work with you.”

You’re life changes in an instant.

This is what happened to 25 year old Polish composer Radzimir Dębski  who creates music under the pseudonym JIMEK. He’s a classically trained graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music  in Warsaw who makes a living composing scores for films and TV shows.

Two months ago he entered a contest that called for musicians to remix Beyoncé’s “End of Time”  single. He wasn’t the only one. In four weeks nearly 3,000 mixes were submitted. A total of 1.65 million online votes were cast by fans of Beyoncé with the diva selecting the winner.

This is the Skype conversation in which Beyoncé surprises Jimek with the news that he was crowned king of the “End of Time” Remix. It happened at 2 a.m. while he slept in a hotel in Berlin.

And here’s Jimek’s “End of Time” REMIX
