Foster the People have exploded this summer and last night, the Los Angeles trio, rocked Toronto’s Sound Academy as part of their sold-out North American tour.
Playing in support of their debut album Torches, the band delivered an inspiring high-energy show, characterized by a mix of catchy harmonies and jolting dance beats.
Backed by a piercing light show, the concert was definitely a few notches more raw and intense than their polished studio album. But, you can judge that for yourself. Here is Foster the People RAW in Toronto…
Formed by Mark Foster in 2009, the band has climbed to number 1 on the U.S alternative album chart principally on the success of hypercatchy hit “Pumped Up Kicks” and the hook-happy “Call It What You Want.” The latter song even appeared on the soundtrack of the “FIFA 12” football video game.
And in Poland, Sony Music asked 3 Polish artists to create official remixes of “Pumped Up Kicks.” They are:
“Pumped Up Kicks” – Double Trouble & Sheep Gunshot Remix
“Pumped Up Kicks” – Plastic Remix Radio Edit
“Pumped Up Kicks” – Rawski Remix
Foster the People will tour Europe in November but if you’d like to catch them live before then, check out the Oct. 8th (2011) episode of Saturday Night Live where they will appear with host Ben Stiller.
